K and L is for Kisses and Love (Part 1)

Our 2014/2015 season opens with a recital of love songs and anniversaries. Taking centre stage are the works of Richard Strauss, one of the greatest of lieder composers, as we celebrate the 150thanniversary of his birth. Join us as we pay tribute to Stephen Foster and Giacomo Meyerbeer, two once celebrated but now largely forgotten composers who died 150 years ago. This evening, we also remember two other important song composers, Joseph Marx and Marc Blitzstein, who died 50 years ago.

About The Alphabet Series

A collaboration between The Arts House and The Sing Song Club, The Alphabet Series is a showcase of a series of 26 recitals based on every letter of the alphabet. Started in 2012, the series spans five years as it aims to promote the genre of art songs.
